SAVE THE CHILDREN

I've had the pleasure of doing voluntary photo assignments for

the renowned international, humanitarian organisation Save the Children.

I followed the Danish branch in East Africa for several weeks, covering various projects in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

East Africa

Crossing the border in to South Sudan the dirt road turns in

to a dried out mud track.

Remains of civil war casulties are seen scattered along the way.

Hidden on the misty savannah the Save the Children aid convoy

slowly moves towards Panyagor.

SOUTH SUDAN

I'm stuck in the village Panyagor for several days as the ongoing civil war keeps me from leaving over land.

Eventually I manage to hitch a ride on a Colombian DC-3 cargo plane stopping in the village for half an hour. At the time of boarding the plane, I didn't know the destination.

RWANDA

Visitors may be overwhelmed by the curious children

waiting near a Save the Children center.
