I am Karsten Bidstrup, a Danish based, award winning photographer and writer.

I am also a National Geographic contributor, a proud published author, an eager world traveller and,

I like to think, a down-to-earth guy.

With an old camera...

OLD SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHY

I guess am an old school photographer.

However, there are pictures on this homepage that have been through Lightroom and Photoshop.

In fact, they all have - there really is no way around it in today's photography.

Even if you are old school.

There are no AI generated pictures though. For me AI is an inspirational partner when I seek unexpected or unusual feedback or when I haven't got a clue and need some kind of answer.

It's not a creative crutch or a convenient solution to a photographic challenge.

I wish the quote, and not just the picture, were mine.

It nails my peception of photography spot on and it's certainly something I strive for.

I guess my own conventional approach to photography is to make it simple, not boring, which I always try to express in my pictures.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PICTURES

Viewing this homepage on a smartphone isn't fair to my pictures - any pictures really.

You probably already know that.

So, swap to a bigger screen (pc, laptop or at least a tablet) and give yourself

a nicer experience.

Make the old school photographer happy.
